It's a wrap!

My knowledge of social media platforms was pretty extensive before this class.  However, I have learned how to create a blog for your personal brand.  I knew about blogs, but never thought about blogging before this class.  I think social media can have play an important role in the success of anyone's business.  This class provided the right tools to help with that.

Improving on Google Hangouts would be the only aspect for me.  I was unable to post a video using this platform.  I think it will just take a little more time to explore and learn more about this part.

If I were to pursue a business, I think creating a blog is a great idea and linking all of your other social media sites to your blog.  I am on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn already, so just perfecting the business side is what I would do.  Also, posting videos to YouTube promoting your brand and having them link to your blog would be an area that I would focus on.

Thanks for following along!  Good luck to you all!

Test Video

I will be creating a podcasts and videos of my experiences at MLB ballparks.  The videos will not be from the actual ballparks that I went to but I will speak about my experiences.  The video above is a test video to make sure the videos will download correctly.  I used my iPhone 6plus to shoot the video.

Professionalism

When you create a professional profile on any site, I believe you must sound professional to your audience.  You need to know what you are talking about.  Your knowledge of the subject will be key to your success.  When I created a profile on LinkedIn, I looked at it like I was creating a resume.  Which essentially you are!   The picture you post will have a great influence on your audience.  You want to look professional!!  I have yet to create a professional or business page on Facebook.  I definitely would not use my personal page to promote by brand.  You have to separate your personal life from your professional life.  I love using Twitter because your professional brand can be re-tweeted to thousands of people within minutes.  You can also # it and hopefully it will start trending.

Here are a few groups that I belong to on LinkedIn to check out: Baseball Industry Network, Baseball in the Blood, and Major League Baseball Fans.

As far as Facebook and Twitter, you just need to search MLB.

Favorite Vlogger

I chose YouTube as my video blogging site.  It is used around the world and everyone has heard of it.  The vlogger I have chosen does a great job capturing his tour of major league ballparks.  He keeps his videos short so he doesn't lose his audience while still getting his message across.  He does a great job.  Here is a link to one of his videos.

Introduction to my blog

Hello people!  My name is Brian Valtierra.

I believe that knowledge is power!  Therefore, I will be providing information to you about the different Major League Baseball ballparks that I  will visit.

My passion for baseball started when I was a kid playing little league in California.  I went to my first Major League Baseball game when I was 10 years old.  My father took my brother and I to Candlestick Park in San Francisco to watch the Giants play the Montreal Expos.  The only recollection of the game was the atmosphere and the other fans cheering.  I was hooked!!

My goal for this blog is to hopefully help anyone going to these ballparks have a better understanding about the ballpark itself and the immediate surroundings.

I plan to visit Coors Field in Denver, Colorado, Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona and Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas.  My favorite MLB ballpark is AT&T Park in San Francisco!!
